Hello/She:kon!
What is it like at Sken:nen?
My treatment room is a large, safe space (largest in the Ottawa area!) with a serene, Boreal forest atmosphere.
My passion is to help calm your nervous system with massage therapy. Tapping into this first helps you heal from injuries, reduce muscle tension and stress, enhance sleep or soothe anxiety/depression.
My aim is to provide you with the therapeutic, clinical massage treatment you need in a peaceful atmosphere. I look forward to meeting you and helping you!
About Me
My aim is to help facilitate your healing. I provide a hybrid mix of therapeutic and relaxation massage designed to help relieve the sensation of pain, relax sore muscles and improve your overall wellness. I use different modalities/techniques to enhance my treatments; such as Indian Head Massage, Reiki and Hot Stone Therapy, myofascial/active release, gua sha, lymphatic drainage and Thai massage.

Sken:nen; (pronounced ‘Sga:nah’), a word in the Kanien’kéha (Mohawk) language for ‘peace’ or ‘serenity’. The language of my Haudenosaunee ancestors. What better way to describe how you will feel after a treatment…more peaceful.
The white pine tree with the eagle on top is very significant to Haudenosaunee people. It is a symbol of their peace agreement, ‘The Great Law of Peace’, that was established more than 500 years ago. They solidified their commitment by burying their weapons under a white pine tree. The eagle at the top is a direct connection to Creator and a protector of peace. The four roots at the bottom represent the four directions (East, West, South and North).
What is ‘Sken:nen’ and the symbolism of the tree in my logo?
